The Day After….the Big Launch

by Neal O'Farrell on October 28th, 2010

Today we’re wrapping up from yesterday’s great launch of the San Francisco Identity Theft Council, the first big city in the nation to launch its own Identity Theft Council, and what a day it was.

Inspiring speeches from State Senator Mark Leno, Chief Prosecutor Paul Henderson, Inspector Anne Madrid of the Hayward Police Department, Craig Spiezle of the Online Trust Alliance, Jenefer Duane of the Elder Financial Protection Network, Steve Schwartz of Intersections, and victim Karen Lodrick.

We were also delighted to introduce our first group of Junior Counselors from Lincoln High School in San Francisco’s Sunset district – such a great group of inspiring and engaging young students.

Now we’re following up with interviews with the media, offers of support, and requests for partnerships from around the country.

We have so many people to thank for making it such a great day and event, but especially Sharon Tallon from Patelco Credit Union (and all the credit unions that supported us), Denise Gregor from Lincoln High, Joyce Carcaise and Tee Morris (our biggest fans) from Intersections Inc., and Michele Schafer and her hard working team from Merritt PR.

After months of preparation, now the hard work begins. Thanks to all, now on to the next big challenge.
