Yesterday we met with the Chief of Police of one of California’s 23 state universities, and they very enthusiastically agreed that we should explore the idea of creating a university Identity Theft Council, run by students for students.

This is really exciting news. Universities can be a hotbed of identity theft, with so many busy students not paying enough attention to their credit, personal information, and online habits.

Not only do we have a great chance to reach these students and change their habits, we’re using other students to run the program. And we also hope that the students we convert will consider becoming mentors for our Junior Counselor high schools students.

Eventually we hope that every state college in the California system will have its own Identity Theft Council – a first for the nation.
