San Francisco now ranks as the fourth riskiest city in the nation for cybercrime, according to a new study just published by security firm Norton. Sacramento came in at number 16, Oakland at number 18 and San Jose at 20.

According to the report “San Francisco tops the list for riskiest online behavior and highest number of WiFi hotspots per capita. Many of these cities are considered some of the most tech-savvy cities in the nation, proving that even skilled and experienced Internet users are at risk when it comes to cybercrime and online insecurity.”

The report analyzed data for each city including the number of cyberattacks and potential online and computer infections, level of Internet access, expenditures on computer hardware and software, wireless hotspots, broadband connectivity, Internet usage and online purchases.
